Given the previous blog post talks about mobile (cell for the US audience) phone cameras, I thought I would ask the question. Anyone actually use their mobile phone camera? I know I do, but I have heard plenty of people scoff at the thought of it. Well it sure beats trying to get a 5D in my pocket. And it is handy for a quick shot of something you see in your travels.
Without the phone camera I wouldn’t have got this shot.
Granted, the cameras is mobile phones aren’t exactly the best cameras around (especially ones that are 12MP) but they are more than sufficient in grabbing a moment in time. Seeing all the people using their phones on Twitter is exactly what I mean.
So, who uses their mobile phone camera?

I use my phone camera all the time. At 5mp it’s enough to cover most P&S type situations where I don’t really care about quality. Mostly though, I use it as a very portable video camera
I only recently upgraded to a phone with a camera….and keep forgetting that I have a camera in my pocket at all times now!
I need to remember that I can take photos with my phone, as there are definitely situations where you want to capture a photo of something, but don’t have a “real” camera handy.
I use my camera phone a lot. My friend was recently at a research center in Alaska and held an octopus, it was the one time she didn’t have her camera and no one she was with had a camera phone. That would have been a great time to use a camera phone. Camera phones make good back ups and are more discreet than a typical camera.
