2/52

2/52, originally uploaded by norbography.

Week 2 of the 52 weeks project.

It is a pretty special time of year for a person who loves sports. In France they are riding the 3500km, 3 week bike race around France and neighbouring countries. In England, or to be exact for the first Test, Wales, they are playing the Ashes cricket series.

This is a photo of me enjoying both of them, from the other side of the world. Taken at 30 minutes after mid night, you can see two TV windows on the left screen (The MacBook Pro laptop) and on the right screen is the live timing, and other information I keep an eye on during the coverage.

Considering 10 years ago we hardly got to see highlights of the Tour de France, it is a pretty big thing to watch it live.

God bless SBS, the Australian broadcaster for both events. Sure as hell beats Channel 9.

Hows your vision?

Photographers play around with colours quite a lot, mainly in post processing. Sometimes I wonder just how good some peoples vision actually is. Ramping the saturation slider up to a volume of 11 might make pretty colours, but those colours aren’t very realistic. When was the last time you saw an iridescent pink sky?

To check just how well you can pick colour hue, take the test on the following website. http://www.spectralcolor.com/game/huetest_kiosk

How did you go? At the time of writing this blog post, at about 1am, I managed a perfect score. Luckily it wasn’t a hearing test.

So, what did you score? Do you have ninja eyes like mine, or do you struggle to tell green from blue?

The 1st 167 days for Obama.

In what is becoming one of my favourite sites in the interwebs, The Boston Globe’s Big Picture, has come up with the goods once more. Looking at President Obama’s first 167 days in office.

Possibly the coolest note written for being away from school is my favourite from this crop of great shots.

Sorry mam.
