50 Dazzling Examples of Polar Panorama Photography

Nothing does my head in quicker than these polar panorama photos. I can appreciate the work that goes into them, and I am sure people with normal brains think they are the best thing since Colonel Sanders dropped the spice rack onto his chicken, but they aren’t really for me. But for the viewing pleasure of all you good readers, I give you a link, to 50 dazzling examples, as decided by Webdesigner Depot.

PanelPop, an interesting concept.

Here is an interesting concept in photography, or any art for that matter. From the FAQ at www.panelpop.com.

PanelPop is a framed art surface with multiple incarnations and future potential in architecture,
housing and whatever else Tony bends his attention towards. The current (tested) uses included.

Digital images are printed directly onto the panel using UV-cured ink.

The Photo Panel is scratch and weather-resistant so doesn’t require glass to protect it.

Upload one of your own photographs (link on most pages of the site) and enjoy the thrill of framing it into life.

Before you become a Wedding Photographer…

… have a read of the article below. It might make you think again. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the good wedding photographers out there. You will notice I said good. There are some people who claim to be wedding photographers who wouldn’t know the bride from the groom. There are others that charge like they are royal photographers and shouldn’t be let near a camera.

Paul and Ruth and the crowdOne of the photos I was happy with from Ruth and Paul’s wedding.

I have photographed one wedding, which was for a friend, and I am embarrassed at the photos. It was a couple of years back now, and I was crook as a dog on the day, but that was their big day, and I feel like I let them down. It is a very hard hard job.

4/52

4/52, originally uploaded by norbography.

This weeks self portrait snuck up on me a bit. I got dragged up to Sydney today for work and forgot today was the end of week 4. When I was preparing for a ride on my bike, I remembered, Tuesday is the end of the week for the 52 Week Project . So this weeks shot is hastily thrown together, and for that I apologise, but if it tells you one thing about me, it is that I am not the most organised person in the world.

Something else, I ride a push bike a bit. Not as often as I would like, but I hope that is about to change with the arrival of Miriam. I get a lot of enjoyment out of cycling, and I am hoping that I can get back in to it like I used to be. Some people know of the little ride I did in 2005 for charity. It was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things I have ever done, and I would like to think I could do something like that again one day.

So that is 4 weeks down, only another 48 to go.  🙂

Stop wishing for that Amazing Camera and Appreciate The One You’ve Got

He is quite a good little article about people craving the latest and greatest camera gear.

All cameras have are essentially the same thing, a shutter that exposes light on a light-sensitive surface. Sure, there are differences in engineering tolerances and technical ranges and the latest technology. But Ansel Adams didn’t have today’s latest gadget. He had know-how, and practice.

Dan Dyer makes some good points, but I would argue that a person with a point and shoot will never be able to take a shot like this.

7 Hearts

Yes, a composition like that you could achieve with a point and shot, but I doubt you can get a narrow depth of field like that. Also, the biggest bug bare with me and point and shoots is the shutter lag.

Have a read and let me know what you think.
