… I was in Echucha wandering around the Great Aussie Beer shed with Neil Thomas.

It is nearly always worth getting up early.

The shot I have wanted to take for years.
Photography takes you to some interesting spots.
I have just recently posted this photo on Flickr.
Certainly not one of my most artistic efforts, but it is an interesting place. Bethungra, near Cootamundra in NSW has a rail line running past it. There is also quite a mountain range for the trains to try and get over. This piece of engineering is in place to help the trains climb the hill. Basically, they just do a loop around a hill once, gradually climbing as they do. What interesting places or structures have you come across whilst doing photography.

One of my favourite shots of the latest road trip. I took this shot about 10 minutes before falling down some steps and cracking a rib.
Andrew Günsberg’s Exhibition is go.
TV and radio personality and photographer Andrew Günsberg has opened the exhibition that he spoke of in an earlier interview for this blog.
This from his Posterous blog…
It’s open and out there – come on down.
On a rainy, pissy, cold Sydney night – a couple of hundred lovely punters packed into Mart Gallery for the opening of my first photo exhibition.I couldn’t have been more humbled by the turnout.
Cheers to everyone that made it tonight, and most certainly to the team at Canon Australia for their support.
So now my fears of being out there are just going to have to hold on to themselves, because it’s well and truly out there now.
Even the photos I didn’t publish online, they’re in the gallery.
I still shudder a bit that so many private moments are now out there for all to see, but that’s a part of why I did this, to work through that fear. (But try telling my fear that!)
So while it’s out there in the breeze, I’d love you to see it. If you decide to buy one, a percentage of the proceeds goes to Lifeline, so that would be tops too.
I’ll try and get down there most days, so I hope to meet you there too!
It’s at Mart Gallery – 156 Commonwealth St. Surry Hills.
A short walk from Central, opposite the Mosque and the Mah Jong room.
If you haven’t seen his work, get along and have a look. I am trying to get there Saturday afternoon at some stage.
Strips of Colour
Not a bad shot out of an iPhone. Sure, I tricked it up a bit with some software on the phone, but it still amazes me what those tiny little sensors are capable of.

This is the first (and it is also just a straight conversion from RAW to JPG on my work computer) of what will be many photos from my just completed 4 day trip to Cootamundra. I bogged tractors, flew a plane, went arse over head down some steps and generally had a great time. Stay tuned for a few more posts about this years mini road trip.
Bugger
Day 1 at the farm and this is what I get caught up in. 🙂
