How Capa’s camera does lie, or doesn’t, you be the judge.

How about a little controversy to start the working week. The famous photo of a soldier falling to his death after being shot in the Spanish Civil War is being called a fake once again. It seems to pop up every now and then on photography forums and web sites the world over every six months or so.

Have Camera Will Travel: Photography and fear

Paul Dymond has written a very interesting piece on his blog about his fears as a photographer. Not as in leaning over a cliff to take a shot, more about his style of shooting. It made me wonder about my style. Do I actually have a style? Hmm, I might throw a few words together about this later in the week.

Bird, bird, bird, the bird is the word.If I do have a style, people will probably say this is it.

Stop wishing for that Amazing Camera and Appreciate The One You’ve Got

He is quite a good little article about people craving the latest and greatest camera gear.

All cameras have are essentially the same thing, a shutter that exposes light on a light-sensitive surface. Sure, there are differences in engineering tolerances and technical ranges and the latest technology. But Ansel Adams didn’t have today’s latest gadget. He had know-how, and practice.

Dan Dyer makes some good points, but I would argue that a person with a point and shoot will never be able to take a shot like this.

Yes, a composition like that you could achieve with a point and shot, but I doubt you can get a narrow depth of field like that. Also, the biggest bug bare with me and point and shoots is the shutter lag.

Have a read and let me know what you think.
