Some very clever photos coming up. Have you ever bent a nail whilst hammering it in? Well, did you know it could have been art?

This is what sports photography is about. Some top quality photos in the Washington Post this last week.
Another one where I will just let the pictures do the talking me thinks.
Faux Photoshop: 15 More Images that Seem Too Amazing to be Real | WebUrbanist.
If photography does anything, it lets us capture moments in time. If you are the most successful recording artist in history, there are going to be quite a few photographs taken of you. On the link below you will see the life and times of this once great entertainer. Few people can understand what it must be like to live in his shoes, is it any wonder he became a recluse.
This photo is just one of the fantastic images captured of Jackson.
… then again, it may not. Thomas Hawk makes a case for it to view Flickr photos in the link below, but, as cool as it is, there are negatives to it as well. You need a pretty rapid internet connection to be able to slide through loads of photos at any given time. And, you need a snappy computer as well it seems. My work laptop struggles to shuffle the images around smoothly. Having said all that, it is an incredibly cool application when it is working like it is meant to be.

Get ready for a barrage of Flickr photos on the Tweet Highway. Flickr has just added Twitter integration to its site. Whoohoo.
What a dream it must be to have the privilege of viewing Ansell Adams’ darkroom. Marc Silber had the opportunity and writes about it in an interesting article linked below. If you do nothing else today, I would suggest you watch the video in that article. For me, it humanises the legend. To hear his son Michael talk about his famous Moonrise photo and how it came about was a great insight into the man. Let me just say this, so I am on the record, I wasn’t until about 10PM last night, a fan or Mr Adams. That video and some further reading has changed my mind. That, in itself, should be enough to send you scurrying over to look at that video. 🙂 He may have been the king of dodge and burn, but his images were terrific to start with, he just made them better. Pickle my grandmother, did I just say that?

I know in my head I don’t want to post this post, but I think for the benefit of others out there, I should. It is no secret that I am not a PhotoShop zealot. I use it sparingly. I try my best to get the shot in the camera, not on the computer. But I have to admit, I do Photoshop every image I churn out. It may only be to upload the photo, but I do use it. A lot of the time it is a simple +5 on the saturation slider and a nudge of the levels sliders, but I suppose I am a post processor like the rest of them. The links on the page below will show you just how nutso you can go in Photoshop. This photo for example…
That is taking it too far in my humble opinion, but I can guarantee there will be people that love that effect. Click the link and go crazy people!

So there I am, out on my nightly (read, every 4 nights) run with the dog in tow (read, me following madly running dog) when I had an idea. And, for the first time in god only knows how long, I could remember it when I got home! The fish oil tablet I ate 6 months ago has kicked in, whoohoooo. So, the big idea. Could I possibly so an interview, via Twitter? Questions and answers less than 140 characters. What a concept. I reckon I could do it. Now I just have to find a willing participant.

It might be that time of year, even my good mate Pete, from Galway Ireland, is in a motivational slump at the moment. I have heard quite a few people talking about it of late, maybe for the southern hemisphere people it is due to the short days of winter, I really don’t know. Well here is a link to get you back out there.
5 Quick Tips To Keep You Motivated.
Now, go forth and photograph!
NB. I am not actually in a slump myself, I am just hearing a lot of people saying that they are.
