7 Tips for Perfect Sunrise and Sunset Photos

If you are one of those people that can actually drag themselves out of bed in the morning, you will sometimes be rewarded with stunning sunrises. If this is new to you, and you want to maximise your chances of that magical shot, have a read of the article linked below.

I have been asked a number of times why do sunrises when you can do sunsets? In my humblest of opinions, I think you get two different types of light. I don’t know what it is, but mornings tend to feel more metallic than afternoon light.

Here are two photos, one morning, one afternoon. Apart from a lot of people knowing I live on the East coast of Australia, which makes guessing very easy, it would be hard to tell which was which.

Amazing, how often do you hear that in a day? Nearly as often as awesome I bet. Well, here are some amazingly awesome shots using light painting. You have to see them to believe them. It isn’t often that I sit here amazed and awestruck, but I was with this bunch. Strap your eyeballs in, because they are about to be taken on a trip to Awesomeville!

Hows your vision?

Photographers play around with colours quite a lot, mainly in post processing. Sometimes I wonder just how good some peoples vision actually is. Ramping the saturation slider up to a volume of 11 might make pretty colours, but those colours aren’t very realistic. When was the last time you saw an iridescent pink sky?

How did you go? At the time of writing this blog post, at about 1am, I managed a perfect score. Luckily it wasn’t a hearing test.
